Agile Management Office has 12 Guiding Principles that lead our way of working. These principles are integrated into our AMO Way framework for implementing long lasting change, and by embodying these 12 points, we have been able to secure reliable and targeted results for all of our clients.

Let’s dive into one of the principles!

Principle 3:

Integrate governance from Ideation through to Benefits Realisation and into business as usual

Defintion

Integrating governance is all about working smarter; not harder. It is not about doing more work in less time, it is about bridging those gaps and looking at the bigger picture of how your governance and delivery fit together. It’s about streamlining governance techniques, processes, tools and methods from idea initiation through to execution of benefits. It’s about incorporating stakeholders across the journey and ensuring alignment to organisational standards.

Example

When integrating governance, it is the collection of techniques that are ensuring the establishment of goals, strategy, culture structure, and controls that protect the process and stakeholders of your organisation. Integrated governance expresses the end-state of the implemented government practices. Ensuring there is alignment can be done through a stock take check of what you have today and what is left to change moving forward, focusing on the flow of value.

Checklist

  • Identify what good looks like before introducing new governance.
  • Understand your current environment and its needs.
  • Define a process to review the processes.
  • Engage your stakeholders in the process and refine.
  • Clearly define and communicate the framework for change.
