We’re so excited to have again expanded our valuable team! Sofie was so inspired by the work she and her university did with AMO last year that she was one of the first to apply for our Internship. Sofie studies at Aarhus University in Denmark with a background in social sciences and international studies. Aarhus University is working with AMO as a partner since 2019. Even though she’s currently in Denmark, we’ve all embraced the time zone difference to bring out the best in our team, a challenge that Sofie has taken head-on. We love all the work she’s done so far and can’t wait to see what’s around the corner!

What is your role at Agile Management Office?

My role as an Administration Assistant intern consists of many things including supporting project management and operations activities. I have been given the opportunity to work alongside the AMO team to assist with implementation, monitoring and reporting of ongoing projects and other project related activities such as assessment. I am also part of content creation supporting and promoting AMO methodologies.

Furthermore, my academic background in project management and innovation is useful when being involved and actively contribute to AMO’s strategic directions, reaching future objectives and goals.

Lastly, my role is also to assist anywhere I might be useful and contribute to business development through the world of academia.

Why did you choose to work for Agile Management Office?

During my Master of International Studies at Aarhus University, AMO was a partner of a project management course. I was assigned Project Coordinator and worked closely with Fatimah and really found myself engaging with AMO methodologies in a very positive way.

I learned that AMO works across borders and with multiple industries, which I find is the most interesting aspect of project management and consultancy. AMO also caught my attention because I believe in the same core values of flexibility, accountability and consistency when communicating project management and helping different industries reaching different objectives and (re)implementing strategies of better business.

Also, I appreciate good work ethics and being with AMO has already made me feel like I am a part of collectively sharing visions of continuous growth through hard work.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

As mentioned, I am currently finishing my master’s degree at Aarhus University in Denmark. Therefore, most of my time is spend reading, learning, taking classes and enhancing my skills within my field of study. I live in the second largest city in Denmark so that also attracts many different activities and I love to socialize and getting to know other people. Also, I love being active and staying healthy, so handball, horseback riding and long strolls around the city is definitely high on the list.

Whenever I get the chance, I go travelling. I love exploring new cultures and gaining new experiences – routine is a killer of the soul. Through travelling you gain a sense of appreciation of the world around you. I have yet to visit Australia, so that is definitely on the top of my list!

Up Early or out late?

Considering being only 24 years old, you would assume that I am the typical night owl, but I really appreciate a good night’s sleep. Waking up early is also a way to get things done and getting a good start to your day. However, I do enjoy the occasional night out with friends and family!
